Rivers Edge Golf Club and Tidewater Golf Club in Myrtle Beach to close for renovations

Two of the Myrtle Beach areas most scenic golf courses are closing for the Summer for course renovations. Rivers Edge Golf Club which is in Shallotte,North Carolina and is one of four Arnold Palmer Design Golf Clubs. The other three are, The World Famous Kings North, Southcreek and the West course at Myrtle Beach National Facility.

Rivers Edge Golf Club for years has been known as one of the Best Layouts in Myrtle Beach, However, the golf course has always been known for never being in good condition. In 2006, Rivers Edge was nominated #62 by Golf Digest has one of the "Top 100 Public Courses in America". Rivers Edge Golf Club closed June 1st with plans to re-open August 1, 2009 with new paspalum greens. If successful Rivers Edge Golf Club will be the most northern golf course in the country with paspalum greens. Currently it is Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach with wall to wall paspalum grass.


Tidewater Golf Club and Plantation will also be closing on June 22nd and plans to reopen August 1st. Recently rated 41st in Golf Digest's ranking of America's greatest public courses, Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach has been known for its conditioning and layout until the past few years getting bad reviews.



With a little TLC both of these great layouts will again rise to the Top rankings for Myrtle Beach Golf and throughout the country.
